This is a beautiful and well-built antique Navajo bracelet. It’s clearly marked “Sterling,” and the maker’s mark on the bracelet is AH. The turquoise stones are all very well set without a single stone missing. It also has beautiful silver beadwork on each side of the turquoise stones.The size is 6.5” but is adjustable to a maximum of 7.5”.
Sleeping Beauty turquoise is found in only 1 mine in the entire world — Globe, Arizona. As of 2012, that mine is now closed, which makes Sleeping Beauty turquoise in very limited supply. What makes it so expensive is that it has a consistent, unique, brilliant blue color with almost no veins. In this piece, you have to use a loupe to see any veining at all. The scarcity of this stone along with its prized appearance have led to the high demand for such stones, which also drives the price up.
